Looking Back on 2011

2011 has been an exceptionally busy year for us. We've filmed houses being built, multi-lingual DVDs for the public sector, marketing films for a radio station, a CD-ROM and series of web adverts for a printhouse and even a Scottish western!
Yes, Glass Bullet Productions is presently in production on the 'Legend of Black Diamond', a unique and adventurous steam punk western set against the background of a re-imagined banking crisis. The ten part series will be broadcast on Channel Fife TV following a theatrical and video release.
Producer Laura Binnie stated that one of the best things about the 'Legend' series was the return to classic film techniques, some of which have not been seen in Scotland for many years. Laura said that these include 'giant dressed sets, serious hardware such as trains and motor bikes, pyrothechnics and real stunts.'
Director and Screenwriter Graeme Campbell stated that the company had been able to bring together 'an excellent cast and crew' for 'Legend' and was looking forward to bringing the series to a wide international audience.

In January 2011, the Glass Bullet team attracted the attention of the capital's online newspaper, 'The Edinburgh Reporter', during a flurry of production in the capital.
Although based in Fife, Glass Bullet shoots all over the UK and much of its recent work has been Edinburgh-based. The Edinburgh Reporter were fascinated that on just one day Glass Bullet were filming an eco-house being built on a hilltop location in the morning, then in the evening were deep underground filming a mining scene for one of our latest dramatic productions. The photographer snapped away as we set off on-set pyrotechnic effects down an old mineshaft.

The Wild West Comes to Fife in New Production for CFTV

Something very strange is happening in Fife and it's being produced in some of the most hard to reach areas of the Kingdom - namely underground, down caves, in tunnels, ditches, mines and old abandoned railways. The production is a web-based drama series made for Channel Fife TV.
Shot mainly in Fife with actors and crew also from the Kingdom, the episodes were filmed in HD during what was a very harsh winter.
Straying from tradition, the western is set in the East and features women in the leading roles. With a bizarre script, unusual locations, original music score and obligatory wild west opening graphics, the series will certainly be original.

The series which will consist of ten episodes combines a tale of revenge and redemption with the stylistic cinema world of Sergio Leone. Principal shooting will start towards the end of 2010 with some location filming in Fife and the rest in Studios.

Graeme Campbell on The Politics Show
Glass Bullet's News Crew Featured on 'The Politics Show'

Glass Bullet's online broadcasting partner 'Channel Fife TV' was recently featured on the BBC's Politics Show where producer Graeme Campbell was interviewed about local television and how our online Channel fits into the new coalition government's 'Big Society' plan.
The BBC crew visited Channel Fife TV in Kirkcaldy as they were filming a story about Fife country star Jackie Storrar.
Graeme was delighted the BBC was listening to filmmakers in Fife and giving him a platform for his views :
"The BBC spent time with us in Kirkcaldy, interviewing and filming us for their piece about Local Television. I've been an avid supported of local television for many years and I feel that our Channel Fife structure fits in with the current Governments' plans. Online television is just a natural progression from what we did years ago - running film festivals all over Fife. Online video and advertising is the way to go and we've always been top of the list when it comes to taking on new technology and new ways of getting the media to the people."
